2023 World Series odds: MLB futures lines for every team post trade deadline

[ad_1]

The MLB trade deadline has come and gone. Now it’s time for bettors to turn their attention to World Series odds.

While some teams struck out of contention by trading away key players, others — like the Angels, who kept Shohei Ohtani — are committed to competing deep into the season.

Will the Atlanta Braves, the current favorites at +330 to win the World Series, continue to run away from the rest of the league? Or will a long shot sneak up the oddsboard and into position to win the Fall Classic?

Let’s look at the 2023 World Series odds for all 30 clubs

MLB Playoff Picture Update: Will the Orioles hold on? Astros the team to beat?

MLB Playoff Picture Update: Will the Orioles hold on? Astros the team to beat?

Ben Verlander and Alex Curry give an update on the MLB playoff picture and Ben even gives his prediction for who will win each division.

Can the defending champion Houston Astros (+800) win their third world championship in seven seasons? They’ve played in four of the past six Fall Classics, but eight-time All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve might be out for a while after experiencing left oblique discomfort.

What is the main argument for betting against the Astros to win it all again? Well, MLB hasn’t had a repeat World Series winner since the 1998-2000 Yankees.

MLB Power Rankings: Braves move to No. 1, Reds continue to rise

MLB Power Rankings: Braves move to No. 1, Reds continue to rise

Ben Verlander gives his weekly MLB Power Rankings with the Atlanta Braves staking claim to the top spot.

Meanwhile, the best (and most balanced) team in the league this season has been the Atlanta Braves. They are currently the only team in the league with 70 wins — 37 at home, 33 on the road — and hold the lowest ERA (3.63) in the league. They’ve also won eight out of their last 10 games. While they don’t offer great value, they could be worth a little sprinkle in the upcoming weeks if they hit a losing streak and this number lengthens a bit.

Bettors looking for a better payout might want to consider the defending NL champion Philadelphia Phillies (+2000) or the Seattle Mariners (+4500), who were a popular team with bettors prior to last season (despite a then-20-year playoff drought) and reached the ALCS in 2022.

Fun betting fact: Six of the past eight World Series Champions had preseason title odds of +1000 or greater.

2022 Astros (+1000)
2021 Braves (+1000)
2019 Nationals (+1600)
2018 Red Sox (+1150)
2017 Astros (+1175)
2015 Royals (+3300)
