This outfit change was a stark difference from the racy lingerie-inspired look at the presidential inauguration. The 55-year-old author received severe backlash for her bold look on social media.
The former American journalist opted for a Dolce & Gabbana gown. The gown featured soft tulle sleeves that draped over her shoulders. She accessorised the chiffon dress that featured a satin corset with jewellery from Lorraine Schwartz, which included a set of statement pearl-drip chandelier earrings. Her hair was styled in soft curls.
Sanchez completed her look with her signature smoky eyes and glossy nude lips. She took to Instagram and shared behind-the-scenes photos of her posing for the camera with the caption, “Starlight Ball,” with a shooting star emoji.
The D&G gown look was her subtle way to hit back at criticism over her controversial inauguration outfit by “liking” supportive Instagram comments on her post.

She was accompanied by her billionaire fiancé, who sported a suit with an oxblood-hued tie.
Social media users were quick to slam her look as inappropriate for the occasion.
“Jeff Bezos future wife Lauren Sanchez is incredibly inappropriately dressed for a state occasion,” one critic wrote on X. “Someone should have told her that having her white lace bra out on display is not acceptable.”
